Residential Design: KSA Kitchen Design Competition

Project requirements:
With an R225 000 budget, a kitchen design that adopts a fresh, contemporary country style must be developed. The main consideration in this design is that the room will be used by a widowed mother with four children under the age of twelve. She is left-handed, therefore, the kitchen must be able to accommodate her demands. The fact that all four of the children are under the age of twelve must be considered when planning the kitchen in order to accommodate them. The official spaces to be designed are:
Main kitchen
Dining area
Pantry
Scullery

Design Solution:
The contemporary country aesthetic served as the ultimate golden thread across the overall design. The kitchen design utilizes the triangle method between the prep bowl, refrigerator, and the stove. The design was meticulously planned to accommodate the left-handed mother and her four children under the age of twelve. Officially, the main kitchen was intended to provide ideal flow, with an additional pantry for storage and a scullery and mud area at the entrance. There is also a countertop work area for the youngsters and a dining table where the mother can work.
